Turner leads Morgan Hill mayor race as Measure A trails in early count

Morgan Hill Mayor Mark Turner led two challengers and Measure A, which would make the city treasurer an appointed position, was trailing in unofficial results from the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters, last updated at 10:38 a.m. Wednesday.

Those results are early. The registrar had counted 306,898 ballots countywide and estimated 337,600 more were still unprocessed as of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, most of them vote-by-mail ballots received by Election Day. Mail ballots postmarked by Election Day and received within seven days must also be counted. The registrar’s next results update is scheduled for Wednesday by 5 p.m. No South County race has been decided.
