A gas station at 16720 Monterey Road in Morgan Hill is being torn down and rebuilt, according to the city’s project page, which lists the World Oil project as under construction.
The half-acre site will get six pump stations with a total of 12 fuel pumps under a canopy, plus a new 2,115-square-foot convenience store. The project replaces the existing gas station and convenience store on the site.
The Planning Commission approved the project on April 25, 2023, under Resolution No. 23-01. The city prepared an initial study and adopted a mitigated negative declaration under the California Environmental Quality Act, along with a mitigation monitoring program. Studies posted with it cover air quality, noise, traffic, soil sampling and stormwater.
The page does not list a completion date or say whether the station will offer a car wash or electric-vehicle charging.
The project numbers are UP2021-0002, SR2021-0001 and EA2021-0001. Senior Planner Tiffany Brown handles the project: Tiffany.Brown@MorganHill.CA.gov or 408-310-4655.
